Specialisms: Physio for older people and Post-op rehabilitation

Hi, I’m Ed.

I’ve always been an active person and my curious nature led me to choose a career in a health science to learn how we work as humans. Educating people to not be afraid of movement and their bodies is a personal joy of mine. I love seeing how knowledge helps people improve their outlook on their condition in the short term and their physical function in the long term.

Since qualifying in 2018, I’ve specialised in post-operative rehabilitation of orthopaedic surgeries, from acute management in the hospital to outpatient and home-based rehabilitation therapy. I really enjoy the journey of working with patients to regain their strength and mobility and ultimately return to the activities that give them joy.

I have also gained a great deal of experience with elderly patients in medical and care facilities, as well as in their homes. It’s extremely rewarding helping patients whose mobility has been affected by an acute medical episode to regain their strength, mobility and independence.

With participating in sport myself, I have a keen interest and enjoy treating sports related injuries and maximising performance.

Want to know more about me before you book an appointment?

My favourite gym exercise? The Nordic Hamstring curl for sure. A beast of an exercise to prevent hamstring issues and a lot harder than it looks!

My ideal holiday is anywhere with dense greenery, views of nature and some mountains for hiking. Madeira, Portugal living a simple life of preparing some fresh food in the morning daily and spending the day hiking the beautiful trails all around the island before finishing the day at the beach.

To keep active I do resistance training in the gym or some calisthenics. Cardio-wise, I love moving and I will either be running, playing basketball, volleyball or spike-ball.

When I’m not working, I love being outside regardless of the weather. You’ll often find me hiking with my partner and chasing the nearest mountain views.

A topic I can spend all day talking about is photography! I love my cameras and I’m an avid travel photographer. I’m known in my group of friends as the one to come to for pictures to use for their social media when we travel.
